Unreleased Aaliyah Songs to Come Out on New Album, Producer Says

Is a new Aaliyah album in the works?

new Aaliyah album featuring her unreleased songs is underway, according to producer Jeffrey J. Dub Walker who announced the news via Twitter yesterday (March 4th).

This will be Aaliyah's first non-compilation CD since she passed away 11 years ago. One song to be included on the album is "Steady Ground" which was to appear on Aaliyah’s 2001 album and was already leaked on the internet awhile ago.

According to reports, J. Dub revealed this song was really the first single after "Rock the Boat," but his engineer was mixing the record and somehow lost the vocals. The vocals we hear on the song now are really just the demo vocals. J. Dub said the final vocals got erased and that’s why it didn’t make Aaliyah’s past album.

There is no set date on when fans can expect this Aaliyah album but I'm excited about the news. Lets hope this isn't all just talk....fingers crossed.

Take a listen to "Steady Ground" below which also features vocals from the late Static Major.
